‘The Holiday’ cottage in Surrey

You may recognise this beautiful little cottage from the Christmas house-swapping rom-com The Holiday.

The films production crew were so inspired by this cute little cottage in the picturesque Surrey village of Holmbury Saint Mary, called Honeysuckle Cottage, that they built a perfect replica of the exterior in a field in the nearby village of Shere where The Holiday was filmed. The interior only ever existed on a sound stage and after the film was finished, ‘Rosehill Cottage’ was torn down.

In 2019 that little cottage in Surrey that inspired Rosehill Cottage in The Holiday, came onto the market and i’m the lucky owner!

Every year we get people who have seen The Holiday come to take photos of the actual house that inspired Rosehill Cottage in the film and when it snows Honeysuckle Cottage looks magical, just like in the movie!
